What Is the 11.11 Sale?
The 11.11 sale takes place on 11 November every year. It started in China as Singles' Day, because the date 11/11 is made of four ones, and the number 1 looks like a single person. In 2009, the online store Alibaba gave big discounts on this day, and it has since become the biggest online shopping day in the world. In Pakistan, Daraz and many local brands now run an 11.11 sale every November, and online shoppers wait for it to buy at lower prices. Also written as 11/11 or the Singles' Day sale, it is now as big as Black Friday for online shopping, and most people shop the 11 11 sale online.
